2017 Singlefile ‘The Vivienne’ Chardonnay

The 2017 Singlefile ‘The Vivienne’ Chardonnay is always one of Western Australia's greatest chardonnays. Singlefile Wines, known for its precise and expressive winemaking, presents this Chardonnay as a tribute to the region's capacity to produce world-class wines. 'The Vivienne' is named in honor of a cherished figure, symbolizing the winery's commitment to creating wines with character and story.

The wine is a favorite of co owner Troy, who came across the range at the cellar door in the Denmark region of Great Southern on a family campervan trip.

Tasting Note:

  • Appearance: Exhibits a radiant golden color, suggesting richness and depth.
  • Aroma: A sophisticated nose of ripe stone fruits, notably white peach and nectarine, mingled with hints of vanilla, toasted oak, and a subtle floral undertone.
  • Taste: On the palate, the wine reveals a luxurious texture, with layers of creamy stone fruit, balanced by a refined minerality and a well-judged acidity.
  • Finish: Concludes with a long, elegant finish, leaving a lasting impression of complexity and finesse.

Food Pairing:

  • Chicken Liver Pâté with Pear Marmalade (Wineology): The wine's creamy texture and stone fruit notes complement the richness of the pâté and the sweetness of the pear.
  • Fresh Fig and Blood Orange Salad (Wineology): The vibrant acidity and fruitiness of the Chardonnay pair beautifully with the fresh figs and citrusy blood orange, creating a harmonious balance.
