Stoke Sauvignon Blanc 2024
Stoke Sauvignon Blanc 2024 is a distinctive expression from Kangaroo Island, Australia, crafted by Stoke Wines, a boutique winery known for its innovative and hands-on approach to winemaking. This vintage showcases the unique terroir of Kangaroo Island, with fruit sourced from two different sites: half hand-picked from American River and the rest machine-picked from the False Cape Vineyard on the island's eastern end. The hand-picked fruit was pressed directly to barrel, while the machine-picked portion was pressed to tank and cold settled. Fermentation involved both native yeasts and controlled temperatures, with 50% of the wine undergoing barrel fermentation in old French oak. The wine was then stirred on lees and underwent partial malolactic fermentation, resulting in a complex and textured Sauvignon Blanc.
