Stoke Sauvignon Blanc 2024

Stoke Wines, a boutique winery on Kangaroo Island, South Australia, is dedicated to producing wines that reflect the island's unique terroir. The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc is a testament to their innovative and hands-on approach to winemaking.

This vintage showcases the unique terroir of Kangaroo Island, with fruit sourced from two different sites: half hand-picked from American River and the rest machine-picked from the False Cape Vineyard on the eastern end of the island. The hand-picked fruit was pressed directly to barrel, while the machine-picked portion was pressed to tank and cold settled. Fermentation was conducted with native yeasts, with 50% of the wine undergoing barrel fermentation. The wine spent time in old French oak barrels, with lees stirring to enhance texture and complexity, and underwent partial malolactic fermentation. A total of 193 cases were produced.

Appearance: Pale straw with greenish hues, reflecting the wine’s youth and vibrancy. Bright and clear, with a subtle viscosity hinting at texture and depth.

Aroma: The nose is lively and aromatic, bursting with tropical notes of passionfruit, guava, and pineapple, balanced by citrusy hints of lime and grapefruit. Subtle herbal undertones of fresh-cut grass and green capsicum add complexity.

Taste: Light-bodied and crisp, the palate delivers a medley of zesty lime, juicy green apple, and ripe passionfruit flavours. A refreshing acidity runs through the wine, giving it energy and precision, while a touch of minerality adds depth and structure.

Finish: The finish is clean and invigorating, with lingering notes of citrus and tropical fruit, leaving a vibrant and refreshing impression.
