Castrum Morisci IGT Passerina 2022
Castrum Morisci IGT Passerina 2022 (often seen as “102”) is a lively, characterful white from Italy’s Marche, made from the local Passerina grape. The style is all about clarity and drinkability—bright orchard fruit, coastal freshness, and a gentle savoury texture that keeps it food-friendly and moreish.
Appearance:
Pale straw with green flashes and a bright, crystalline look in the glass—youthful and energetic, with a light, glossy sheen.
Aroma:
Fresh crab apple, pear and lemon peel, then white peach and chamomile. A subtle herbal lift (fennel frond/green almond) sits over a clean stony-mineral note that hints at the wine’s saline, seaside feel.
Taste:
Dry and crisp but not skinny. Juicy orchard fruit and citrus run through the core, while a faint leesy creaminess adds shape and a softer, rounded mid-palate. Acidity stays bright and zesty, and a gentle pithy grip brings tension and definition.
Finish:
Clean, mouthwatering and lightly salty—citrus zest, pear skin and a neat mineral snap linger, with a refreshing, food-calling dryness at the end.
Food Pairing:
Fritto misto, grilled calamari, spaghetti alle vongole, pesto pasta, burrata with lemon and herbs, or roast chicken with rosemary and garlic.
