Xavier PA PA Pinot Noir 2024
Xavier Goodridge’s Pa Pa Pinot Noir 2024 is his cheerful, crowd-pleasing flagship—made with a light touch and a clear brief: pure Pinot joy. Sourced from Mount Gambier and Heywood in the far south-west, it’s fermented simply in stainless steel and finished in a mix of stainless and older barrels, keeping the focus firmly on bright fruit, perfume, and effortless drinkability.
Appearance:
Translucent bright ruby with a vibrant cherry sheen and a soft pink-magenta rim. Youthful and glossy in the glass, with delicate, quick-forming legs that hint at a fresh, medium-weight palate and a silky, gently savoury structure rather than heavy extraction.
Aroma:
Cherry blossom and rose petal over red cherry, cranberry and wild strawberry. Subtle undertones of hibiscus tea, forest floor, and a faint nutty/earthy savoury note, with spice sitting quietly in the background.
Taste:
Juicy, lifted and immediately appealing—tart cherry and cranberry lead, followed by sweet kirsch-like charm and a gentle savoury turn through the mid-palate (tea leaf, soft spice, a touch of earth). The texture is supple and gliding, with fine, sandy tannins and nervy acidity keeping it bright, clean and moreish. Oak influence feels minimal—more seasoning than flavour.
Finish:
Medium-long, fresh and lightly savoury, tapering through red fruit, floral lift and a neat, stony grip that leaves you reaching back for another sip.
Food Pairing:
Charcuterie, roast chicken, duck skewers, salmon, mushroom dishes, pork schnitzel, or a picnic spread—excellent with a light chill.
