Amisfield Cellar Release Pinot Noir 2016 is a mature Central Otago Pinot Noir showing the graceful evolution of cool-climate fruit with time in bottle. Layers of dried cherry, red plum and forest floor are complemented by spice, savoury herbs and softened tannins, creating a poised, complex wine with refined depth.

Appearance:

Garnet red with brick-toned highlights and a translucent, mature rim.

Aroma:

Evolved aromas of dried cherry, red plum and cranberry are layered with rose petal, forest floor and dried herbs. Subtle notes of leather, clove and earthy spice add complexity.

Taste:

Medium-bodied and finely structured, with red cherry, plum and dried berry fruit supported by fresh acidity and softened, polished tannins. Savoury herbs, gentle spice and earthy notes give the palate maturity and depth.

Finish:

Long, elegant and persistent, with lingering red fruit, dried florals, forest floor and fine savoury tannins.

Food Pairing:

Excellent with roast duck, venison, mushroom risotto, lamb loin, game birds or soft-rind cheeses.
