The Branciforti family, with deep roots in Sicilian history, has been associated with the island's viticulture for generations. Their commitment to preserving and showcasing indigenous grape varieties is evident in their collaboration with Firriato, leading to the creation of the Feudi Branciforti dei Bordonaro line. This collection celebrates the rich heritage and diverse terroirs of Sicily, offering wines that truly reflect the island's character.

The 2021 Catarratto is sourced from vineyards in the Trapani countryside, nestled between Mount Erice and the Egadi islands. These vineyards, situated on gentle hills at altitudes between 300 and 400 metres above sea level, benefit from medium-textured soils with a clayey tendency. The unique microclimate, influenced by constant Mediterranean breezes, allows the Catarratto grapes to develop a pleasant acidity and aromatic profile.

Appearance: Straw yellow with light golden reflections, indicating freshness and vitality. The wine’s clarity and brightness suggest a crisp and lively character, while the gentle golden hue hints at its aromatic complexity.

Aroma: Delicate hints of peach blossoms and wisteria, with subtle notes of wildflowers and early-maturing pear. A touch of citrus zest and almond skin adds depth, creating a beautifully fragrant bouquet.

Taste: Fresh and aromatic, with a pleasant and persistent acidity that enhances its elegance. Vibrant flavours of ripe pear, lemon, and white peach unfold, supported by a subtle mineral undertone that adds texture and intrigue.

Finish: Delicate notes of aniseed provide a refined and lingering finish, leaving a soft, slightly savoury aftertaste. A gentle touch of salinity enhances the wine’s freshness, making each sip inviting and refreshing.

Food Pairing: This Catarratto pairs wonderfully with seafood hors d’oeuvres, fish and shellfish dishes, and white meats. It complements grilled prawns or seared scallops beautifully, while its crisp acidity balances the creaminess of a burrata salad with fresh tomatoes.
