Kershaw GPS Lower Duivenhoks River Chardonnay 2020
Kershaw GPS Lower Duivenhoks River Chardonnay 2020 is a single-vineyard Chardonnay from the Cape South Coast, made by Richard Kershaw in the exploratory GPS range, which focuses on distinctive vineyard sites beyond Elgin. Drawn from limestone-influenced soils, it presents a taut, mineral expression of Chardonnay, balancing texture, purity, and finely judged oak with impressive precision.
Appearance:
Pale gold with a bright straw edge, clear and polished in the glass.
Aroma:
Lifted and layered, with peach blossom, white nectarine, red apple, and citrus peel, underscored by gentle creaminess, subtle spice, and a fine mineral note.
Taste:
Textural yet precise, showing pear, peach, satsuma, and a touch of pineapple through the mid-palate. Supple fruit and creamy oak framing are balanced by incisive acidity, giving the wine both breadth and focus.
Finish:
Long, chalky, and refined, with lingering citrus pith, soft spice, and a clean mineral persistence.
Food Pairing:
An excellent match for roast chicken, grilled fish, butter-poached seafood, or creamy mushroom dishes.
