Oak-Valley-Estate,-Groenladberg Pinot Noir 2022
Oak Valley Estate Groenlandberg Pinot Noir 2022 is a cool-climate Elgin Pinot Noir drawn from high-altitude, south-facing vineyards along the Groenlandberg. Made under Jacques du Plessis in a restrained, site-driven style, it captures the purity, freshness, and quiet savoury detail that define Oak Valley’s finest Pinot Noir wines.
Appearance:
Bright ruby with a youthful garnet-crimson edge, clear and finely luminous in the glass.
Aroma:
Expressive and finely layered, with red cherry, cranberry, and ripe strawberry joined by darker hints of black cherry and blueberry. Subtle notes of tilled soil, beetroot, fresh herbs, and cinnamon spice add savoury depth and complexity.
Taste:
Silken yet gently coating, with ripe strawberry and red cherry at the core, supported by cool-climate acidity and a delicate earthy undertone. The palate is textured and poised, with rounded tannins that still provide enough grip to keep the wine focused and refined.
Finish:
Long, fresh, and savoury, tapering through red fruit, gentle spice, and a clean mineral lift.
Food Pairing:
Beautiful with duck breast, roast chicken, wild mushroom risotto, seared tuna, or pork dishes with herbs and soft spice.
