Castello del Terriccio, Lupicaia 2010
Castello del Terriccio Lupicaia 2010 is a mature, distinguished Tuscan red that combines Cabernet Sauvignon-led structure with the warmth and savoury complexity of the Mediterranean coast. With more than a decade of bottle age, it shows layered dark fruit, tobacco, cedar and earthy spice, underpinned by polished tannins and a long, composed finish.
Appearance:
Deep garnet red with brick-toned highlights and a dense, mature core.
Aroma:
Complex aromas of blackcurrant, dried plum and dark cherry are layered with cedar, tobacco, leather and dried Mediterranean herbs. Notes of graphite, cocoa and warm spice add further depth.
Taste:
Full-bodied and structured, with cassis, plum and dark cherry supported by fresh acidity and refined, well-resolved tannins. Savoury herbs, tobacco, dark chocolate and earthy mineral notes create a deep, mature palate.
Finish:
Long, elegant and persistent, with lingering dark fruit, cedar, tobacco and fine savoury tannins.
Food Pairing:
Excellent with roast lamb, braised beef, venison, wild boar, truffle dishes, mushroom ragù or aged Pecorino.
