Singlefile Wines, located in Denmark, Western Australia, is renowned for producing premium wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Great Southern region. The Family Reserve Chardonnay is the winery’s flagship white wine, showcasing their commitment to quality and precision. The 2023 vintage continues this tradition, offering a beautifully crafted Chardonnay that combines elegance and intensity. Known for their careful vineyard management and minimal-intervention winemaking, Singlefile consistently produces wines that are expressive and refined.

Denmark’s cool maritime climate, with its long, slow ripening season, is ideal for Chardonnay. The 2023 Family Reserve Chardonnay was barrel-fermented and aged in French oak, with a portion undergoing malolactic fermentation to develop texture and complexity, while still maintaining a focus on freshness and bright acidity.

Appearance: Pale gold with a light, greenish tint, reflecting the wine's youth and vibrancy.

Aroma: Fresh aromas of white peach, nectarine, and citrus, layered with subtle notes of toasted almond, flint, and a touch of vanilla from the oak.

Taste: Medium-bodied with a finely balanced acidity. Flavours of ripe stone fruit, lemon curd, and grapefruit are complemented by a creamy texture, with hints of hazelnut and a delicate minerality adding depth and complexity.

Finish: The finish is long and clean, with lingering citrus and stone fruit notes, underscored by a slight saline edge that adds to the wine’s precision and elegance.

Food Pairing: This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with seafood dishes, especially grilled lobster or pan-seared scallops. The wine’s fresh acidity and creamy texture enhance the richness of the seafood, while its citrus and stone fruit notes lift the dish. Another excellent pairing would be roasted chicken with garlic and thyme, where the wine’s oak influence and subtle nutty flavours complement the savoury depth of the roast, creating a balanced and elegant combination.
