Campo alle Comete Podere277 Syrah 2019
Campo alle Comete Podere 277 Syrah 2019 is a pure, single-vineyard Syrah from coastal Tuscany, where sea-breezes and warm days give ripe fruit while keeping the wine savoury and composed. Born from the Bolgheri project linked to Feudi di San Gregorio’s know-how, it’s a modern, Mediterranean-styled Syrah that favours clarity and spice—fermented and matured in stainless steel for a clean, fruit-forward expression with polished structure.
Appearance:
Deep ruby with vibrant purple highlights and excellent clarity. Dense at the core, yet bright at the rim; slow, even legs hint at generous body and ripe concentration.
Aroma:
Ripe blackberry, mulberry and dark plum, lifted by violet and a touch of lavender. Peppercorn, bay leaf and dried Mediterranean herbs follow, with subtle hints of liquorice, cocoa dust and warm earth adding a savoury, coastal complexity.
Taste:
Dry, full and confidently shaped. Dark berries and plum flesh lead, then broaden into black pepper spice, olive tapenade and a faint smoky-meaty note typical of Syrah in warm climates. Acidity stays fresh enough to keep it nimble, while firm, fine-grained tannins give a structured, food-ready feel without turning rustic.
Finish:
Long, steady and gently drying—black fruit, cracked pepper and herbal savouriness linger, finishing clean with a dark, mineral echo.
Food Pairing:
Pepper-crusted steak, grilled lamb cutlets with rosemary, sausages with fennel, mushroom ragù pappardelle, charred eggplant, or aged pecorino.
