Rijk’s Chenin Blanc 888 Gold 2019 is the estate’s flagship Chenin Blanc from Tulbagh, crafted in a rich yet composed style that highlights both concentration and finesse. Made from 100% Chenin Blanc and fully barrel fermented, then matured for an extended period in French oak, it shows the variety in a layered, age-worthy form with ripe fruit, nutty complexity, and a beautifully polished texture.

Appearance:

Bright gold with a deep straw hue, luminous and expressive in the glass, suggesting both richness and maturity.

Aroma:

Complex and inviting, with ripe peach, yellow plum, and stone fruit layered with hints of cracked almonds, cashew, and subtle oak spice. There is a gentle honeyed warmth to the bouquet, balanced by freshness and poise.

Taste:

Full-bodied and multi-layered, with ripe orchard and stone-fruit flavours at the core, supported by creamy texture, delicate oak, and a finely judged nutty complexity.
