Rusden Good Shepherd Malbec 2024

Rusden’s Good Shepherd 2024 is a richly fruited, aromatic Barossa red that leans into plush Malbec character while keeping a bright, vibrant line through the palate. Grown in the sandy Vine Vale district and made in Rusden’s honest, small-batch style, it’s designed to be immediately enjoyable—generous in fruit, quietly savoury, and confidently balanced.

Appearance:
Deep dark magenta with a vibrant purple rim; youthful, dense and glossy.

Aroma:
Black cherry and ripe plum lead, followed by blueberry, violets and a hint of cherry blossom. Underneath: cocoa, warm spice, and a subtle earthy/ironstone nuance.

Taste:
Dry, medium-to-full bodied and velvety. Plush blue and black fruits (plum, mulberry, blackberry) glide across the palate, supported by fresh acidity and fine, gently gripping tannins. Notes of cacao, dark chocolate and soft spice add depth without heaviness.

Finish:
Long and smooth, tapering into dark berry, cocoa and a faint savoury edge, with lingering freshness that invites another sip.
