Bouchard Finlayson, Tete de Cuvee 2021
Bouchard Finlayson Tête de Cuvée 2021 is the estate’s pinnacle Pinot Noir, released only in exceptional vintages and assembled from a tiny selection of the cellar’s finest barrels. Under winemaker Chris Albrecht, it shows Hemel-en-Aarde Pinot at its most refined: graceful, savoury, and layered, with old-vine depth and a quietly regal sense of structure.
Appearance:
Medium-deep garnet with a bright, polished core and elegant clarity.
Aroma:
Aromatically expressive, with black cherry, wild strawberry, and rose petal layered with delicate cinnamon, subtle essential-oil lift, and beautifully integrated oak spice.
Taste:
Silky yet classically dense, showing dark cherry and red-berry fruit wrapped around savoury spice, fine oak, and a gently earthy undertone. The palate carries both delicacy and depth, with freshness, poise, and finely shaped tannin giving the wine real composure.
Finish:
Long, complex, and elegant, tapering through cherry skin, floral lift, spice, and a savoury mineral note.
Food Pairing:
Excellent with shellfish risotto, crisp-skinned duck breast, roast turkey with cranberry, or refined mushroom dishes.
