Torpez Petite Bravade Rose 2023
Torpez, based in the heart of Saint-Tropez, is one of Provence’s most stylish and historic estates, dating back over a century. Today, it produces contemporary, elegant wines that reflect the chic, sun-soaked glamour of the Côte d’Azur while remaining faithful to Provençal traditions. Petite Bravade Rosé 2023 is crafted to capture freshness, finesse, and the quintessential pale, delicate style that Provence rosé is world-famous for – light, crisp, and effortlessly drinkable.
The vineyards sit on schist and sandy soils overlooking the Mediterranean, where constant sea breezes and abundant sunshine create an ideal climate for rosé. Grapes (Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah, with small amounts of other local varieties) are harvested at night to preserve freshness, gently pressed, and vinified at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks. This ensures purity of fruit, pale colour, and a crisp, mineral-driven style.
Appearance: Pale, crystalline salmon-pink with silver reflections, luminous and delicate in the glass. Fine tears gently cling to the sides.
Aroma: Fresh and inviting, with aromas of wild strawberries, redcurrants, and white peach, lifted by subtle citrus zest and delicate floral notes of rose and jasmine.
Taste: Light, crisp, and vibrant, offering flavours of red berries, stone fruit, and a touch of grapefruit. Bright acidity and a fine mineral backbone provide structure and elegance, while a whisper of Mediterranean herbs adds complexity.
Finish: Clean, refreshing, and graceful, lingering with red berry fruit, citrus zest, and a saline freshness that recalls the nearby sea.
Food Pairing: Ideal with Provençal seafood such as grilled prawns or bouillabaisse, or with lighter dishes like a goat’s cheese and beetroot salad or Niçoise salad.
