Grosset, an iconic name in Australian winemaking, is renowned for its exceptional Rieslings from the Clare Valley. The G110 is a special release, created to celebrate Jeffrey Grosset's 40 years of winemaking. The wine, made from 100% Clare Valley Riesling, draws from Grosset’s most prestigious vineyards, particularly his famed Polish Hill site. It’s named after the 110th vintage produced by Grosset in his storied career. The G110 is a rare and collectible wine that reflects Grosset’s mastery of Riesling, focusing on purity, longevity, and terroir expression.

Polish Hill’s slate-rich soils and cool microclimate give the G110 its hallmark minerality and tension, while the winemaking is classic Grosset—minimal intervention, careful handling, and precision, allowing the vineyard’s characteristics to shine through.

Appearance: Pale straw with green highlights, signalling youth and vibrancy.

Aroma: Intensely aromatic, with lime zest, green apple, and lemon blossom leading the charge. There are also underlying notes of wet slate, crushed rocks, and a hint of jasmine, adding complexity and freshness.

Taste: Crisp and laser-focused, the palate is all about purity of fruit, with zesty lime, grapefruit, and Granny Smith apple flavors dominating. There’s a beautiful balance between the taut acidity and the wine’s underlying chalky minerality, giving it depth and texture. The wine is bone-dry, with a precise, steely structure that hints at its excellent aging potential.

Finish: Long, clean, and refreshing, with lingering notes of citrus and a pronounced mineral edge. The acidity is vibrant and mouthwatering, ensuring the wine finishes on a crisp, energizing note.

Food pairing: Freshly shucked oysters. The briny, mineral quality of the oysters will be enhanced by the wine’s citrus-driven acidity and clean, saline finish.

Tempura duck eggs with spinach, olive soil, and truffle paprika emulsion. The wine’s sharp acidity and minerality will cut through the richness of the tempura and truffle, balancing the earthy flavours and lightening the dish’s richness.
