Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc 2024
Greywacke’s Sauvignon Blanc 2024 is a confident Marlborough classic with extra polish—vibrant fruit, incisive freshness, and a savoury edge that keeps it refined rather than shouty. Made under Kevin Judd’s steady hand, it’s all about purity and balance: aromatic lift, juicy citrus intensity, and that unmistakable coastal-herbal snap Marlborough does so well.
Appearance:
Pale straw with a bright green-gold flash and brilliant clarity. Light-bodied in the glass with fine, quick legs, giving an immediate impression of freshness and precision.
Aroma:
Lime zest, grapefruit and passionfruit, followed by elderflower, cut grass, blackcurrant leaf and a subtle saline/mineral note that nods to its maritime influence.
Taste:
Dry, energetic and tightly focused. Citrus leads—lime and pink grapefruit—then layers of passionfruit and crunchy gooseberry roll through the mid-palate. A savoury thread of fresh herbs and a gentle chalky texture add definition, while bright acidity keeps everything crisp, clean and moreish.
Finish:
Long, mouth-watering and pristine, tapering through citrus pith, herb lift and a lightly saline snap that begs for another sip.
Food Pairing:
Fresh oysters, sashimi, goats’ cheese salad, Thai green papaya salad, grilled prawns with lime, or asparagus risotto (the herbal notes sing).
