Fleet Chorus Pinot Noir Blend 2023
Fleet Wines, a boutique producer based in Victoria’s Gippsland region, is known for crafting expressive, small-batch wines that reflect the nuance and individuality of their vineyard sites. Founded by winemakers Justin Jenkins and Lisa Jenkins, Fleet focuses on minimal intervention, purity, and elegance. Their Chorus Pinot Noir et al. 2023 is a fresh, energetic blend that places Pinot Noir at the core, complemented by small portions of other cool-climate varieties to bring extra brightness, texture, and aromatic lift.
Grapes for Chorus are sourced from carefully farmed cool-climate vineyards with volcanic and loamy soils, where the temperate conditions allow for slow, even ripening. The fruit is hand-harvested and wild-fermented, with a portion of whole-bunch inclusion for lifted aromatics and silky structure. Ageing takes place in neutral French oak, ensuring purity and vibrancy remain at the forefront.
Appearance: Bright ruby-red with soft purple hues, medium-bodied and showing excellent clarity. Fine, elegant tears gently line the glass.
Aroma: Fresh and perfumed, offering aromas of red cherry, raspberry, and cranberry, interwoven with delicate floral tones of violets and rose petals, alongside hints of subtle spice and a touch of forest floor.
Taste: Light to medium-bodied and vibrant, with flavours of red berries, pomegranate, and a gentle savoury undertone. A fine line of acidity and subtle herbal notes give the palate energy and finesse, supported by supple, silky tannins.
Finish: Long, elegant, and refreshing, leaving lingering notes of red cherry, subtle spice, and a mineral-driven freshness.
Food Pairing: Beautiful with roast duck and cherry glaze, grilled salmon with herb butter, or a wild mushroom risotto with parmesan.
