Adelina Estate’s Introspect Field Blend 2022 is a thoughtful, old-school Clare Valley red that leans into the charm of mixed plantings—multiple varieties grown together, picked together, and fermented as one to capture a more complete “vineyard voice.” The result is typically less about any single grape and more about harmony: bright fruit, savoury complexity, and a naturally balanced structure that feels both rustic and refined.

Appearance:
Deep ruby to garnet with a lively crimson rim.

Aroma:
Wild blackberry and black cherry with red plum lift, followed by dried herbs, black olive, cracked pepper and a gentle earthy note (think warm soil and leaf litter). Subtle floral tones peek through as it opens.

Taste:
Dry, medium-bodied and layered—dark berries and plum skin first, then a savoury mid-palate of spice, herbs and a faint meaty/umami edge. The blend’s natural “co-ferment” feel gives a seamless flow, with fresh acidity keeping it energetic and fine, chalky tannins adding shape without heaviness.

Finish:
Long and gently grippy, finishing on dark fruit, dried herbs and savoury spice with a clean, mineral tail.
