Chateau Lilian Ladouys Saint-Estephe 2018
Château Lilian Ladouys Saint-Estèphe 2018 is a polished, modern-classic Médoc red that keeps Saint-Estèphe’s signature structure while bringing a generous, ripe-fruited 2018 profile. It’s dark-berried, cedar-scented and confidently built—firm enough for cellaring, but with a supple core that makes it rewarding with a decant.
Appearance:
Deep garnet to purple-black with a dense, inky core.
Aroma:
Blackcurrant, blackberry and plum, layered with graphite, cedar, tobacco leaf and dark cocoa. Hints of violet, bay leaf and subtle sweet spice (clove/vanilla) from oak.
Taste:
Medium-full to full-bodied, with a concentrated core of cassis and black cherry. Tannins are abundant but refined—firmly Saint-Estèphe in shape—balanced by fresh acidity and a savoury mineral line. Oak is present yet integrated, adding polish, toast and spice without overwhelming the fruit.
Finish:
Long and structured, finishing with dark berries, cedar, cocoa and a lingering graphite-tannin grip.
Food Pairing:
Roast lamb with rosemary, ribeye or entrecôte, beef daube, duck confit, mushroom-and-truffle dishes, or aged hard cheeses (Comté, aged Cheddar).
