Kershaw, Deconstructed Kogelberg Sandstone PN115 2020
Kershaw’s Deconstructed Kogelberg Sandstone PN115 2020 is a single-vineyard, single-clone Pinot Noir from Elgin, made in Richard Kershaw’s meticulous, site-driven style. Drawn from sandstone soils in the Kogelberg sector, it offers a more structured, darker-fruited expression of Pinot Noir while retaining the lift, finesse, and mineral precision that define the Deconstructed range.
Appearance:
Light ruby red with a bright, youthful translucence and a refined garnet edge.
Aroma:
Perfumed and poised, with bright Bing cherry, sweet spice, and pine needle notes unfolding into darker nuances of forest floor, earth, and subtle savoury complexity.
Taste:
Elegant on entry yet quietly structured, with vivid cherry flesh, dark berry depth, and a silky, linear palate. Fine tannins and lively acidity give the wine tension and grace, while notes of dark chocolate, freshly turned earth, and gentle earthy spice add dimension through the mid-palate.
Finish:
Long, dextrous, and finely persistent, tapering into red fruit brightness, soft spice, and a savoury mineral note.
Food Pairing:
A beautiful match for duck breast, roast quail, wild mushroom dishes, herb-crusted pork, or seared tuna.
