Duluc de Branaire-Ducru 2016 is the second wine of Château Branaire-Ducru in Saint-Julien, offering a polished and approachable expression of the estate’s classic Left Bank style. From an excellent Bordeaux vintage, it combines refinement, structure, and generous fruit, making it both elegant in youth and rewarding at the table.

Appearance:

Deep ruby with a youthful core and a faint garnet edge.

Aroma:

Refined and layered, with notes of blackcurrant, red cherry, plum, and subtle floral lift. Hints of cedar, tobacco leaf, gentle spice, and a touch of liquorice add complexity.

Taste:

Medium-bodied and supple, with a rounded entry and finely shaped palate. Red and dark berry fruits are supported by light cocoa, savoury spice, and polished oak. Fine tannins and fresh acidity give the wine balance, poise, and a distinctly classic Saint-Julien character.

Finish:

Smooth, fresh, and persistent, with lingering notes of currant, spice, and soft tobacco.

Food Pairing:

A graceful match for roast lamb, duck breast, veal, mushroom dishes, or classic beef preparations. It also pairs well with semi-hard aged cheeses.
