Henschke’s Tappa Pass Shiraz 2022 is a powerful, finely sculpted Barossa Shiraz from the elevated, rocky slopes around Tappa Pass near Angaston. From one of Australia’s most revered family estates, it combines classic Barossa depth with the Henschke hallmark of detail—layered spice, dark fruit density, and savoury structure built for both immediate enjoyment and confident cellaring.

Appearance:
Deep crimson with a dark purple core; dense, youthful and glossy.

Aroma:
Blackberry, black plum and blueberry compote, lifted by violet and crushed peppercorn. Underneath: anise, dark chocolate, licorice, ironstone, and hints of cedar and warm baking spice.

Taste:
Dry, full-bodied and concentrated. Dark berry fruit and plum paste dominate, wrapped in fine yet firm tannins. Savoury notes of mocha, clove, char and earthy mineral tones add complexity, while balanced acidity keeps the palate energetic and prevents heaviness.

Finish:
Long, muscular and polished—dark fruit, spice and cocoa taper into ironstone minerality and a lingering peppery freshness.
