Kaesler Avignon 2021
Kaesler Wines, established in 1893 in the heart of South Australia's celebrated Barossa Valley, has earned a distinguished reputation for producing robust, deeply flavoured wines that reflect the region’s powerful terroir. Their dedication to preserving old vines and minimal-intervention winemaking is beautifully showcased in their flagship blends. The Avignon, a Rhône-inspired Grenache and Shiraz blend, consistently exemplifies Kaesler’s signature style—bold yet sophisticated, expressive, and balanced. The outstanding 2021 vintage highlights both the vibrant freshness and rich complexity that Barossa wines are renowned for, capturing the elegance and depth that define Kaesler’s hallmark blend.
The grapes for Avignon thrive in Kaesler’s old-vine vineyards, where deep sandy loam soils layered over clay provide excellent drainage and controlled vigour, producing grapes of intense flavour concentration and refined tannins. Hand-harvested fruit undergoes gentle fermentation with native yeasts before maturing in seasoned French oak barrels for approximately 12–14 months, preserving fruit purity, enhancing complexity, and delivering an impeccably balanced wine.
