Paritua’s Stone Paddock Cabernet Franc 2021 is a modern Hawke’s Bay take on the variety—polished, aromatic and quietly powerful. Grown in a warm, gravelly sub-region renowned for structured reds, it marries Cabernet Franc’s signature perfume and savoury edge with ripe New Zealand fruit purity, finishing firm, dry and cellar-friendly.
Appearance:
Deep ruby to garnet with a youthful crimson rim.
Aroma:
Blackcurrant, dark cherry and red plum, lifted by violet and dried rose. Savoury layers of tobacco leaf, cedar spice, graphite and a faint capsicum/herbal note bring classic Cabernet Franc character.
Taste:
Dry and medium-to-full bodied—ripe black fruit and redcurrant glide into a core of earthy spice, bay leaf and subtle oak. Fresh acidity keeps it energetic, while fine, grainy tannins build through the mid-palate, giving shape and length rather than heaviness.
Finish:
Long, savoury and structured, lingering on cassis, dried herbs, dark spice and a gentle mineral firmness.
