Tyrrell's HVD Vineyard Semillon 2018 is a refined expression of Hunter Valley Semillon from one of Australia’s most historic and revered vineyards, the HVD (Hunter Valley Distillery) site. Tyrrell’s, a family-owned winery founded in 1858, has long been recognised for its expertise in crafting age-worthy Semillon, a grape that thrives in the warm Hunter Valley climate. The 2018 vintage is a stellar example, displaying all the hallmarks of classic Hunter Valley Semillon—vibrant acidity, citrus-driven flavours, and a distinctive minerality. Known for its ability to develop beautifully in the bottle, this Semillon will gain complexity and richness with time, but is equally delicious in its youth.

Appearance: Pale straw with green tints, signalling the wine’s freshness and vitality.

Aroma: The nose is fresh and lifted, with aromas of lemon zest, lime, and green apple, accented by delicate floral notes and a hint of wet stone. There’s a subtle minerality that underpins the fruit, adding complexity and depth.

Taste: Light and crisp on the palate, the wine delivers flavours of lemon and lime, backed by racy acidity that gives it a refreshing, zesty character. The wine’s linear structure is complemented by a chalky, mineral texture, adding an extra layer of finesse. As it opens up, there are hints of green apple and lemon blossom, with a clean, precise profile that promises excellent ageing potential.

Finish: Long and crisp, with lingering citrus and mineral notes, leaving a refreshing, mouthwatering finish.
