Wooing Tree 'Blondie' 2024
The Wooing Tree Vineyard was named after a legendary local landmark, is a family-owned estate nestled in Central Otago’s renowned wine region of Cromwell. Founded by the Farquharson family in 2002, Wooing Tree quickly gained acclaim for crafting vibrant, expressive wines that perfectly capture the region’s pristine terroir. "Blondie" is their signature Blanc de Noir-style Rosé, produced exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes gently pressed to achieve its alluring, pale "blonde" appearance. The 2024 vintage embodies the charm, freshness, and elegance for which this wine has become celebrated, making it an ideal choice for lively gatherings and leisurely enjoyment.
The vineyards at Wooing Tree benefit from Central Otago’s continental climate, marked by significant diurnal temperature variation, abundant sunshine, and minimal rainfall. Combined with sandy, gravelly, and schist-based soils, this terroir yields Pinot Noir grapes with vibrant acidity, expressive aromatics, and refined minerality. The grapes are delicately handled and whole-bunch pressed gently to limit skin contact, ensuring a beautiful pale hue. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks retains the freshness, purity, and vibrant fruit expression characteristic of this stylish wine.
