Yarra Yering, founded by visionary Dr Bailey Carrodus in 1969, stands as an iconic estate in Victoria’s acclaimed Yarra Valley, consistently delivering wines renowned for their sophistication, depth, and exceptional ageing potential. Among its revered portfolio, the Agincourt Cabernet Malbec beautifully blends classic Bordeaux inspiration with New World finesse. Named after the historic Battle of Agincourt, symbolising strength and elegance, the 2022 vintage exemplifies impeccable balance, refined structure, and expressive character, widely acclaimed by critics for its purity, complexity, and vibrancy.

The estate’s vineyards, situated on gently sloping hills with ancient gravelly soils layered over clay-loam, create an ideal terroir for Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. These soils, combined with the region’s cool, maritime-influenced climate, produce grapes with vibrant acidity, firm tannins, and nuanced aromatic depth. Meticulous vineyard management, careful hand-harvesting, separate fermentation, and thoughtful maturation for approximately 18 months in French oak barriques (around 40% new oak) deliver harmonious integration, elegant structure, and subtle complexity.

Appearance: Deep, luminous ruby-red colour with vibrant purple hues at the rim, displaying youthful brilliance and exceptional clarity. Medium-to-full-bodied viscosity gently coats the glass, forming graceful, slow-moving legs indicative of its structured elegance.

Aroma: Expressive, nuanced aromas of ripe blackcurrant, blueberry, and dark cherry, harmoniously combined with subtle notes of violets, cedarwood, and gentle spice. Intricate layers of dark chocolate, tobacco leaf, and earthy mineral undertones further enrich aromatic complexity.

Taste: Elegantly structured palate, showcasing vibrant flavours of blackcurrant, ripe cherry, plum, and blueberry, complemented by refined nuances of cedar spice, subtle cocoa, and gentle earthiness. Polished tannins and lively acidity deliver impeccable balance, depth, and harmonious complexity.
