Taka K’s ‘Tussock Terrace’ Riesling 2025 is a finely tuned Waipara Valley (North Canterbury) white from Takahiro Koyama—Japanese-born, Mosel-trained, and now one of the region’s most precise voices for Riesling. This is a gently off-dry style, built on cool-climate fragrance, stony-cut acidity, and a quietly savory, mineral thread.

Appearance:
Pale straw with a subtle green sheen, crystal-clear and bright. Light-bodied in the glass with a fine, watery rim and a lively, youthful sparkle that hints at its freshness and precision.

Aroma:
Lifted lime zest and lemon blossom lead, followed by white peach, crisp apple, jasmine and honeysuckle. A mineral “wet stone” nuance sits underneath, with a faint waxy/honeyed note and a gentle, bready touch.

Taste:
Delicately off-dry yet beautifully balanced—juicy citrus and mandarin wrap around peach, pear and red apple, while a crystalline acid line keeps everything taut and mouthwatering. The fruit feels clean and precise, with a fine mineral backbone and a silky, lightly rounded texture.

Finish:
Long, refreshing and faintly floral, tapering into citrus pith, wet stone minerality, and a soft beeswax-like perfume.
