Bachey-Legros is a family-owned estate located in Santenay, Burgundy, France, known for its rich winemaking tradition dating back six generations. The domaine, run by the brothers Samuel and Lénaïc Legros, is celebrated for its commitment to preserving old vines, which greatly contribute to the depth and complexity of their wines. They focus on traditional viticulture methods combined with modern winemaking techniques, emphasizing sustainability and authenticity.

The Puligny-Montrachet appellation is renowned for producing some of the finest Chardonnay in the world. The unique terroir of Puligny-Montrachet features limestone-rich soils that provide excellent drainage, coupled with a continental climate that offers a perfect balance of sun and rain. These conditions allow the Chardonnay grapes to develop intense flavours and minerality. The 2018 vintage in Burgundy was characterized by warm weather, resulting in wines with ripe fruit flavours and balanced acidity.

Appearance: This wine showcases a brilliant, pale golden colour with shimmering highlights, indicative of its vibrancy and youthful character.

Aroma: On the nose, the wine presents an elegant bouquet of citrus fruits, such as lemon and grapefruit, intermingled with floral notes of white blossoms and subtle hints of hazelnut and brioche, reflecting its time in oak.

Taste: The palate is refined and well-structured, with flavours of ripe stone fruits, like peach and apricot, complemented by a lively acidity that gives it freshness and balance. The wine's minerality is pronounced, offering a sense of chalky texture that is typical of Puligny-Montrachet.

Finish: The finish is long and graceful, leaving a lingering impression of citrus zest and a touch of vanilla, showcasing the wine's complexity and finesse.

Pairing: This Puligny-Montrachet 2018 pairs beautifully with dishes such as seared scallops with Smoked tomato and parsley, grilled white fish, or creamy risotto. Its acidity and minerality enhance the flavours of these dishes, creating a harmonious and elevated dining experience.
