Joseph Drouhin Cote de Beaune Rouge 2022
Maison Joseph Drouhin’s Côte de Beaune Rouge 2022 is a polished, terroir-driven Pinot Noir that balances ripe, youthful fruit with the house’s hallmark finesse. In a warm, generous vintage, it tends to show a touch more fruit amplitude while still keeping that Burgundian lift—freshness, fine tannins, and an understated savoury thread.
Appearance:
Bright ruby to garnet-tinged ruby, clear and luminous.
Aroma:
Ripe cherry, strawberry compote, and red plum, layered with rose petal and a hint of violet. Subtle undertones of sweet spice, faint cocoa, and a gentle earthy note (mushroom, forest floor).
Taste:
Medium-bodied with a supple, satin texture. Juicy red and dark-red berries lead, followed by savoury nuance—dried herbs and a light mineral/stone character. Acidity is fresh but integrated, and tannins are fine-grained and quietly firm, giving shape without austerity.
Finish:
Smooth and lingering, tapering into cherry skin, soft spice, and a discreet earthy-mineral echo.
Food Pairing:
Duck breast, roast chicken with herbs, pork tenderloin, veal, grilled salmon, mushroom dishes (risotto, ragù), lentils, and mild-to-medium washed rind or alpine-style cheeses.
