A classic expression of Barolo from the esteemed Monvigliero cru, located in the northern part of the Barolo region in Piedmont. Terre del Barolo is a cooperative that unites over 300 small growers, all dedicated to producing high-quality wines that reflect the region’s unique terroir. Monvigliero is one of the most renowned vineyards in Verduno, known for producing Barolos of great finesse and aromatic complexity. The 2007 vintage was particularly warm, yielding rich, ripe wines with excellent balance and structure. Aged for several years in large oak barrels, this Barolo showcases the elegance and depth that Nebbiolo from this prestigious cru is known for.

Appearance: Light garnet with brick-orange hues at the rim, indicative of the wine’s age and Nebbiolo’s naturally pale color.

Aroma: The nose is beautifully evolved, offering a bouquet of dried red cherries, rose petals, and violets, interwoven with secondary notes of leather, tobacco, and dried herbs. There are subtle nuances of truffle, tar, and spice, typical of aged Barolo.

Taste: Medium-bodied with fine, delicate tannins that have softened with age. The palate features flavours of dried cherry, redcurrant, and cranberry, layered with earthy notes of leather, mushroom, and a hint of balsamic. The wine's bright acidity keeps it fresh, while the complexity deepens with savoury notes of tobacco and dried spices.

Finish: Long and graceful, with lingering dried fruit, floral notes, and a subtle mineral finish that speaks to the elegance of the Monvigliero vineyard.

Food Pairings: This Barolo pairs wonderfully with wild game dishes such as roasted pheasant or duck, where the wine's earthy and floral notes enhance the rich flavours of the meat. It is also excellent with aged cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano or Pecorino, where the wine’s acidity and complexity cut through the cheese’s richness.
